چکیده

MOTIVATION The hypersensitive response (HR) is a process activated by plants after microbial infection. Its main phenotypic effects are both a programmed death of the plant cells near the infection site and a reduction of the microbial proliferation. Although many resistance genes (R genes) associated to HR have been identified, very little is known about the molecular mechanisms activated after their expression. RESULTS The analysis of the product of one of the R genes, the Hin1 protein, led to the identification of a novel domain, which we named WHy because it is detectable in proteins involved in Water stress and Hypersensitive response. The expression of this domain during both biotic infection and response to desiccation points to a molecular machinery common to these two stress conditions. Moreover, its presence in a restricted number of bacteria suggests a possible use for marking plant pathogenicity. Effects of Nitrogen and Pre-Harvest Desiccation on Seed Yield and Oil Quality of Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis L.)

Disadvantages such as indeterminate inflorescence and high seed shattering during ripening are significant restrictions to introduce evening primrose as a commercial medicinal plant. Following to the last works, a pot experiment was conducted to clarify the influence of defoliation before harvest on the seed yield, oil and GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) percentage of evening primrose growing under ...

In Silico Characterization of Proteins Containing ARID-PHD Domain and Its Expression in Aeluropus littoralis Halophyte

Abiotic stresses are the most important factors that reduce the yield of crops. In this case, Bioinformatics analysis plays an important role to study genes, and their relatedness as well as prediction their function in response to abiotic stresses. Among all domains, ARID-PHD domain has been identified in plants and animals and has a very significant role in growth regulation, cell cycle, and ...

Effects of gibberellin, abscisic acid and embryo desiccation on normal plantlet regeneration, secondary embryogenesis and callogenesis in microspore culture of Brassica napus L. cv. PF704

Most of the microspore-derived embryos can not regenerate normally in rapeseed. The effects of gibberellins (GA3), abscisic acid (ABA), and embryo desiccation on normal plantlet regeneration were studied. The donor plants were grown in a growth chamber at day/night temperatures of 15/10˚C with a 16/8h photoperiod, respectively. Microspores were isolated from whole buds of 2.5-3.5mm in length, c...

Stability and Performance Attainment with Fixed Order Controller Using Frequency Response

Recently, a new data driven controller synthesis is presented for calculating the family of stabilizing first, second and fixed order controller using frequency respons. However, this method is applicable just for plants that can guarantee some smoothness at the boundary of the resulted high dimension LMI. This paper solve that issue and extends the approach to fixed order controllers guarantee...

A Preliminary Report on the Isolation and Identification of Magnetotactic bacteria from Iran Environment

Several species of Magnetotactic bacteria have been discovered recently. These bacteria synthesize intracellular magnetic nanoparticles in specific sizes and shapes and arrange them in chains. These particles called magnetosomes and can be used for drug-delivery, cell-targeting and hyperthermia. Magnetotactic bacteria navigate along the magnetic field; this process is known as ‘magnetotaxis’ wh...
